Aircraft Engineering & Installation Services Inc. is Hiring an Engineering Technician/AutoCAD Near Orlando, FL

Aircraft Engineering & Installation Services (AEI) is looking for an experienced Engineering Technician/AutoCAD for our growing Orlando based aerospace manufacturing firm. AEI is a registered Department of Defense Contractor as well as an FAA Approved Parts Manufacturer.
Due to the sensitive nature of the information handle by this position and our government contracting responsibilities as well as ITAR, “U.S. Person - Only” candidateswill be considered for this job.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Engineering Technician III completes revisions and corrections of existing engineering drawings, data, documents and/or reports, and generates data and documentation as required for projects and programs. Perform tasks as defined by the Engineering VP or Engineer, including but not limited to; technical research, generating documentation, data entry and documentation for reports, AutoCAD 2D drafting and minor project design work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop complete data packages to build and install system installation kits using AutoCAD, MS Word, etc. Data packages include Electrical Drawings, Minor Mechanical Drawings, Master Drawing List, Accomplishment Instructions, Bill of Materials, Ground, Flight, and EMI Test Plans.
  • Research and assemble a variety of engineering data, forms, or spreadsheets from existing data, manuals, and reports.
  • Process data, identifying errors, and prepares data for presentation.
  • Assist engineers with designs, layout, and schematic diagrams when necessary to construct non-complex electronic test fixtures or models of electronic equipment.
  • Assists with evaluation of basic equipment operational characteristics.
  • Conduct tests using standardized electronic equipment to analyze and evaluate equipment and prepare reports on findings and/or recommendations.
  • Technician will assist in designs by compiling data related to the design specifications, and materials that pertain to specific items of a piece of equipment or component.
  • Utilizing basic AutoCAD 2D skills, technician will assist engineering with drafting, evaluation and or completion of existing drafts.
  • Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and make redline changes to document and drawings of finished engineering data packages.
  • Incorporate ECOs and redline changes when directed to do so by the Engineering Manager.
  • Create new documents and drawings under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager.
  • Update Bill of Materials (BOM) as required to maintain an accurate list of required parts.
  • Plan and create Kit Lists and associated support documentation for new projects or products.
  • Track and report engineering document revisions and required changes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Requires an A.S. degree in a technical or scientific field. Equivalent related experience may be substituted.
  • Four (4) years minimum experience in electronic or mechanical engineering field.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience with PC based computer systems, Adobe, Excel, and Word.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with CAD 2D Drafting (drafting, editing, reviewing) software.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret basic Electrical or Mechanical system operations.
  • Must be able to effectively work with the documentation, numbering systems, electronic and paper filing systems, etc., consistent with engineering functions.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and be able to work under pressure and with a minimum level of supervision. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have good oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
