Location: Merritt Island, FL

Duration: 6 month contract with strong potential of extension and conversion to FTE

Onsite role, 5 days/week (Monday – Friday)

Compensation: $35-50/hr

Role & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Space Industry company! This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing process/production support and manufacturing operations background. Experience leading time studies experience is highly desired!

• Lead manufacturing-related projects
• Lead operations improvement - ergonomic & human factor, operations plans, recovery planning, capacity planning and capital planning
• Provide production support - scheduling, theory of constraint, budget & forecast, crew empowerment, defect analysis, core competency definition, make/buy evaluation, benchmarking analysis
• Identify and prioritize process improvement project - lean manufacturing, engineering economic analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, statistical methods, six sigma and time studies
• Facilitate system integration - Value Stream Analysis, Facility Layouts, Production Systems Design, Manufacturing Process Design, Systems Thinking, Facilities Planning, and Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• BS in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
• 2 years of experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment
• Demonstrated ability in manufacturing and/or facilities planning
• Factory flow, process modeling and simulations experience
• Experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events
• Strong analytic skill set and a high degree of proficiency in data mining
• Exceptional with Excel and manual data analysis
• Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
• Self-Starter
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
