Air General is Hiring a Cargo Agent (IND) Near Indianapolis, IN
Air General, a national cargo handling company, is looking for a Cargo Agent at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) location. Responsibilities include warehouse cargo/mail handling, loading and unloading, documentation, data entry, and above all, great customer service. Job Responsibilities include:
- Cargo acceptance and delivery for four major U.S. domestic passenger air carriers
- Customer service, including communicating to customers about shipment status
- Ensuring regulatory compliance for US federal agencies, including TSA, FAA, USDA
- Processing outbound USPS mail for transportation on aircraft, and processing inbound USPS mail for delivery to USPS
- Reviewing import and export documentation to ensure accuracy
- Handling of cargo irregularities and service recovery
- Warehouse activities, including operating a forklift and/or pallet jack to load and offload trucks
- Ensuring that cargo is prepared, palletized, and/or broken down as needed
- Clean up and sweep warehouse and office, dispose garbage
- Maintain safe operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor/management
- Offsite travel for training up to a week at a time
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must possess a valid Drivers License
- Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions
- When necessary, must be available to work varied shifts, including nights, and occasionally on weekends, and holidays
