Air Force Global Strike Command is Hiring a Recreation Aid (Lifeguard) Near Ellsworth, SD


About the position: This position will be assigned to the Aquatics Center on Ellsworth AFB.
Must have approved and current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification in lifesaving and water rescue, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (infant, child and adult).
This is a flexible work schedule within no minimum guaranteed hours; however may work up to 40 hours.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have an approved and current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (infant, child and adult) training. Experience and practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
Rescues swimmers in trouble and promptly administers first aid if and when needed.
May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area.
Maintains schedules of aquatic programs and classes.
