SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
With safety being top priority, Service Technician will be responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment including: reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors, refrigerated air dryers, desiccant air dryers, filters, condensate removal devices, systems involving electronics, pneumatic air flow, water flow, valves, apparatus and lines used in the distribution of compressed air, electric motors, variable frequency drives, PLCs, diesel engines, and computerized maintenance management systems.
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school/GED, Associate’s degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in Plant Maintenance/Industrial Electronics or 2 years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Above average math skills, ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical design schematics. Ability to evaluate standard technical situations and trouble shoot common operator mistakes that lead to improper system operation.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
State driver’s license, auto insurance, auto registration, acceptable driving record.
Initial drug screening is required.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Compressed Air Challenge – Fundamentals of Compressed Air Systems Certificate.
HVAC license.
OSHA 10 Certificate.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:

Specific Programs and/or skills:
Specialty software training provided upon hire.

This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions. During job site visits, the employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock, air under pressure, and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but at certain times can be considered high (hearing protection required).

The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Certain rigging of equipment via chains & slings is also required.
