Air Cargo Carriers LLC is looking for a Buyer/Purchasing Agent to join our team!!!

The buyer, or purchasing agent, is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment for the business. Besides processing purchase orders, the buyers negotiate with the suppliers, track orders, build and manage an inventory, and deal with inventory teams. The Buyer will collaborate with employees from several departments to forecast the company’s needs and ensure better purchasing options.

• Assess and coordinate complex order requirements; identify, research, identify and assess sources for challenging requirements; analyze program data.
• Provide research/price and availability data and all efforts associated with supply contract actions.
• Procure maintenance efforts necessary to return an item to serviceable condition.
• These efforts will include test teardown inspection (TTI), repair, overhaul, modify, upgrade, calibrate/functional test, failure report, scrap certificate and disposition.
• Ensure conformance to design specifications, e.g. commercial, federal, or OEM.
• Coordinate and track shipping between customer and supplier.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have a 1-3 years of prior purchasing experience, but we will train the right candidate with a related background.
• Ability to identify, research, assess, and process complex information on sources, items, and services
• Experience with competitive and sole source purchasing
• Experience working with purchasing systems
• Experience placing, recording, and tracking high value commercial orders ($10,000-$250,000) using a supply chain management software system
• Detail-oriented, with ability to keep accurate records
• Superior communication and customer service skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and various computer software programs
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
• Experience with commercial or military aircraft and/or ground systems parts and/or repair procurement
• Experience locating and qualifying sources for hard-to-find or obsolete parts and/or repairs
• Experience developing statements of work, sole source justifications, complex specifications and standards for parts/components and repair services
• Experience in competing and ordering goods or services valued over $2,000,000

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds.
• Work performed in a warehouse setting that can be warm/ cold and dusty.

Additional Notes

• This position may require limited travel to out-bases as needed to complete inventory checks.
