AIDT is Hiring an Education Coordinator Near Birmingham, AL

AIDT and the Alabama Department of Commerce at the Alabama Workforce Training Center (AWTC) in Birmingham are seeking applicants for for a full-time Office of Education and Workforce Statistics (OEWS) Project Coordinator.

$60,945 – $87,533

SYNOPSIS

The Office of Education and Workforce Statistics (OEWS) Project Coordinator will support the One Workforce Committee and the Alabama Committee on Credential Quality and Transparency (ACCQT). The One Workforce Committee is a committee of the Alabama State Workforce Development Board that is tasked with coordinating training, outreach, policy, and data integration for Alabama’s public workforce system. The ACCQT was created by Act 2023-365 to develop an annual list of valuable credentials, known as the Compendium of Valuable Credentials, that are aligned to in-demand occupations in Alabama beginning in June 2024. The work of the ACCQT is powered by the Alabama Credential Registry, one of the three elements of the Alabama Talent Triad, which is designed to provide the means to register and evaluate all degree and non-degree credentials in Alabama against Alabama’s non-degree credential quality and transparency criteria.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a project coordinator for workforce development initiatives by contributing to meetings, planning, marketing, and evaluation of projects
  • Coordinates communication between the One Workforce Committee and sub-committees including scheduling meetings, making notes, identifying next steps, and sending reminders about deadlines
  • Acts as a relationship manager by interacting with workforce development stakeholders statewide
  • Writes or adapts content and materials for use in workforce development presentations and training
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of current events in workforce development initiatives and policy from a local, state, and national level
  • Manages administrative tasks like reports and project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed, and stored
  • Serves as a liaison between education and training providers and the ACCQT
  • Manages operations of the ACCQT and prepares documents for committee actions
  • Assists education and training providers with submitting and maintaining credentials in the Alabama Credential Registry, including submitting them for review by the ACCQT
  • Communicates with stakeholders to convey the value of the Alabama Credential Registry to employers, jobseekers, and education and training providers
  • Develops and publishes the Compendium of Valuable Credentials under the guidance of the ACCQT
  • Develops Alabama’s leadership in the non-degree credential ecosystem
  • Serves as Alabama’s representative for the non-degree credential ecosystem at conferences and events
  • Assists with the development of the Alabama Credential Registry and its integration into the Alabama Talent Triad

coworkers and the general public

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple administrative functions concurrently

  • Ability to lead others in a team-based environment

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a duly accredited institution required and minimum two years’ experience in appropriate area of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a social science related field preferred and two years in state government, workforce development, workforce training, or postsecondary education

Salary and General:

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C3M salary schedule, within a range of $60,945 - $87,533. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

Criminal Background Check:

The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $23.84 payment for the cost of the criminal
background check. (Note: $23.84 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama
license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
