Do you believe housing is healthcare and we all deserve a safe home? Do you want to be creative and give people support in obtaining and maintaining a home? Do you want to provide care to those living with HIV as they increase their independence and give them a space where mistakes are permitted? Do you enjoy teaching by example and working alongside the client to learn?

In addition to other responsibilities, this position will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide individual support to client for transition preparation, including but not limited to budgeting, life skills and building support systems
  • Connect clients with healthy support activities and programs including but not limited to, Faith-based, athletics, support groups, volunteer and civic groups
  • Provide experiential interventions to reinforce learning including shopping, obtaining bank accounts, cleaning, mediating with family.
  • Assist clients with enrollment/application for community support services, including social security, re-employment service, health care coverage, Medicaid/Medicare and other available community services.
  • Engages, counsels, manages, motivates and effectively works with high-risk, vulnerable patient population, including chemically dependent persons and person in crisi Follow through on verbal and written communications from clinical staff, managers and directors.
  • Submit documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Achieves and maintains program established productivity levels including outcomes of clients served with rehabilitative skills training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/ Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services related field from an accredited university, preferred or commensurate experience. One year experience or internship preferred.
  • Substance abuse treatment or residential setting experience preferred.
  • HIV/AIDS knowledge preferred
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Symptoms and interventions
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and provide own transportation.

Important Notes

Certificates/Training/Licenses:

  • Soar Training
  • HIV 500
  • Valid Florida Driver's license and ongoing proof of insurance required and ability to provide own transportation.

Applicants must submit to a Level 2 Background and Pre-employment Drug Screening.
