· Effectively prioritizes clinical interventions and care.
· Ventilator set-up and operation.
· Ventilator troubleshooting.
· ETT Care.
· Weaning and extubating.
· Oxygen set-up/administration.
· Arterial blood gas sampling/analysis.
· Aerosol medications (nebulizer treatments).
· Incentive spirometry.
· Postural drainage/percussion.
· Humidification therapy.
· Suctioning (oral and ETT).
· Pulse oximetry set-up/monitoring.
· Sputum induction.
· Intubation (Assist physician).
· Oral airway management.
· Phlebotomy
· EKG’s
· Thoracentisis Assist
· Bronchoscopy Assist
· Obtains necessary training prior to initial equipment use.
· Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.
· Uses the following equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s operating instructions. Including, but not limited to:
· 7200A Ventilator
· 7200E Ventilator
· Pediatric CAM Tents
· Oxygen administration devices
· Compressed air/gas tanks
· Pulse oximeters
· Suction equipment (wall/portable)
· BIPAP Ventilator
· Bird Respirators
· Arterial Blood Gas Analyzers
· Pulmonary Function System
· Other Duties as assigned.
Adult: Education/Training/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
Minimum 2 years of Critical Care Experience required
Adult: Licenses/Certifications
Current CA license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Current BCLS-C Card
PALS and ACLS required
