JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversee the activities of a group engaged in providing maintenance services in support of manufacturing operations as well as related to maintenance of buildings and utilities. Assist Area Supervisor with assignment of tasks, scheduling work, troubleshooting problems, and analyzing systems to determine and execute corrective action. Perform functions of the group and make recommendations regarding maintenance issues or personnel actions when required. Must be fully oriented to the mill operations and capable of acting decisively in emergencies.

EDUCATION: High School, Vocational Training (or equivalent)

EXPERIENCE: Must have achieved a minimum of Multicraft Technician 7 in primary skills within the maintenance department, plus demonstrated leadership abilities. Knowledge of a wide variety of other vocational skills is required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Use a wide range of hand and power tools and equipment to perform maintenance installation, repair and rebuild of produciton equipment and facilities. Work environment is varied requiring performance of tasks throughout the facility. Exposed to inherent factory conditions and must use ladders, cranes, hoists, and industrial trucks and material handling equipment. Mental acuity and manual dexterity is required to perform tasks, observe safety requirements and read and comprehend technical manuals, work order instructions and engineering prints and diagrams. Must be capable of handling materials up to 50 pounds. Requires administrative and leadership skills and thorough knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and tools. If required, must be able to work any shift, weekends, or holidays and respond to call-ins during off shift hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Troubleshoot, analyze and determine corrective action for a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment or systems malfunctions or failures.

2. Apply electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, piping, welding, or other skills within scope of experience to make emergency repairs or when other resources are not available.

3. Assume a leadership or administrative role to coordinate efforts of others to meet department or company objectives. This includes the use of email [Outlook] for written communication and documentation

4. Utilize the maintenance work order system (SAP) to plan and schedule tasks from work order requests and the work order backlog while assuring all work is properly documented.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Work closely with department personnel as well as personnel from outside the department to coordinate efforts and resolve problems.
2. Remain current in job requirements and actively participate in training programs as a student and as an instructer when necessary.
HOURLY PAY: $45.82
