The Communications & Public Affairs team is responsible for bringing agilon’s vision and mission to life and working with our physician partners through several critical functions including Communications & Marketing, Public Policy, Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) and Social Impact. The Director of Corporate Communications will lead external and internal communications in support of agilon health’s purpose and strategic business objectives. Essential Job Functions: As a key member of the Communications & Public Affairs team, the Director of Corporate Communications will lead external and internal communications in support of agilon’s purpose and strategic business objectives. Reporting to the Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer, this role must operate successfully in a fast-paced, matrixed organization working with agilon leaders, teams across the organization, and the company’s physician partners. Develop and lead a corporate communication strategy across multiple channels aligned with agilon’s overall goals, objectives and values, collaborating closely with C-level executives and others within the organization. Serve as the company spokesperson and primary point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring consistent messaging and brand representation. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance the company's visibility and reputation. Develop, direct and oversee the development of high-quality written materials that convey agilon’s corporate narrative, including messaging platforms, press releases, blogs, Q&As, speeches, editorials, town hall presentations and other relevant materials. Oversee internal communications strategy that optimizes engagement, experience, and connectivity of agilon employees and physician leadership within agilon’s network. Work closely with select C-level executives to support targeted visibility plans, providing strategic communication guidance and crafting compelling messages aligned with agilon’s brand voice. Support crisis communication efforts, providing timely and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally within matrix teams and across functions, including markets, clinical, technology, human resources, finance, investor relations, legal and compliance, to align communication efforts and ensure consistency in messaging. Leverage company programs, policies, and resources to enhance agilon’s reputation and advance the company’s strategy and thought leadership in all written materials. Monitor and become a subject matter expert on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify opportunities and challenges, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as necessary. Manage and mentor a small corporate communications team and embedded consultant support fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Support the Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer in other areas, as requested. Remote role that may require up to 20% travel (domestically), including overnight stays. Required Qualifications: Minimum Experience 10 years of relevant experience in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications Arts or Marketing. Experience with internal and external communication, preferably in a medium to large-size public corporation or relevant agency experience with a focus on business & corporate communications with a progressive leadership track record. Healthcare experience required and payor/health plan communications experience desired. Proven track record for creating and executing a recognized, contemporary communications strategy along with the ability to quickly develop and/or adapt effective strategies to respond to changing circumstances. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences. The ability to work with all levels of stakeholders and facilitate communication strategy and execution. Ability to understand and communicate complex business, legal, regulatory, and technical issues clearly and accurately. Strong listening, creative thinking, influencing, and relationship-building skills with the ability to align communication initiatives with overall business objectives within a matrix organization. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Desire candidate to understand the industry in which the company operates, including its challenges, competitors and trends. Education/Licensure: Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree on communication or relevant discipline desirable. Candidate may be required to travel up to 20% of the time. Location: Austin, TX Pay Range: $129,700.00 - $162,100.00 Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
