ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance and repairs on the following equipment:
    • Loaders/Unloaders
    • Engravers/Saws
    • Conveying Belts
    • Belts
    • Grinding Units/Changing Grinder Shafts and Setup
    • Drying/Blower Units
    • Systems Measuring Machines
    • Compenser
    • Sorting Table
    • Boxer/Glue Machine
    • Box Stacker
    • Robot
    • Water System/Water Chemical Levels
  • Knowledge of Photocell/Proximity Switches; Motors/Gearboxes; Calipers; Electro Valves/Air Lines/Cylinders; Operator Forklift and pallet jack.
  • Sorting tile when needed.
  • Assist ware handler and sorter as needed.
  • Working on sorting lines, doing size change, and measuring tiles.
  • Hand sack tile.
  • Communicate with Kiln, Press, Maintenance, and CDC departments on various subjects.
  • Operate a cardboard baler and stretch wrap machine.
  • Maintain 5S and TPM up to date and filled out.
  • Reset hoppers when full.
  • Put boxes in the line.
  • Dispose of cardboard and put in baler, emptying bailer when needed.
  • Work on Kaizen for continuous improvement.
  • Complete tasks from the Gemba board and use Gemba to effectively communicate issues.
  • Adhere to proper PPE/LOTO.
  • Maintain ongoing log of repairs and any repairs that need to be done in the future.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Department and Supervisor in coordinating work to be completed on the lines.
  • Maintain, repair, and rebuild any parts and equipment, etc., such as guides, belts, filters, switches, chains, sprockets, pulleys, suction cups, foam heads, changing light bulbs, centering wheels.
  • Work closely with Stockroom for parts locations and availability, adhering to stockroom procedures.
  • Completing task items put on the Gemba boards.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification or equivalent work experience in maintenance
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees, management, and vendors
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be available to work overtime as necessary and work other shifts as necessary, may be called in during abnormal hours
  • Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check
