Now hiring a Restorative Aide- 

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state. Must have no disciplinary action against certification, and at least 1 year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting. Must have completed training in restorative nursing services, or will complete the training within 90 days of hire or promotion to the position.

Job Descriptions and Duties:

·Receive specific restorative nursing assignments from Restorative Nurse, or designee, or a discharging therapist. Performs duties as assigned.

·Perform restorative nursing services in accordance with care plans and facility policies and procedures. These services may include activities related to range of motion, splint/brace assistance, bed mobility, transfers/walking, dressing/grooming, eating/swallowing, amputation/ prosthesis care, and communication.

·Perform tasks to individual residents or as part of small group classes.

·Coordinate dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including set-up and clean-up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake. 

·Deliver nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provides assistance as necessary to ensure intake. Document intake accordingly.

·Assist with weighing residents according to facility policy, and records weight in designated locations. Report weight changes to nurse and supervisor.

·Assist with tracking the condition of splints/braces of residents who require them. Report lost or broken splints/braces to nurse and supervisor.

·Assist nursing staff in carrying out toileting program activities.

·Complete flow sheets daily to indicate that the specified restorative nursing task was done. Document the progress of each resident as directed by supervisor.

·Keep nurse and supervisor informed of factors that interfere with being able to perform the work as assigned (i.e., resident refusal, reassigned to nursing unit).

·Report changes in a resident’s condition to the resident’s nurse and supervisor.
