General Purpose:


The Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. The Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of various financial reports. The Accountant reports to the General Ledger Lead.

Essential Functions:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Reconciles bank statements identifying discrepancies and determining corrective action.
  • Prepares various daily, monthly, quarterly, and/or annual financial reports or statements.
  • Gathers, reviews, and analyzes statistical information.
  • Makes necessary corrections and/or adjustments to receive accurate report information.
  • Processes monthly loan payments.
  • Examines accounting information contained in reports and exhibits, traces, and reconciles unusual variances.
  • Performs complex account reconciliations.
  • Records routine and recurring transactions.
  • Completes general ledger entries for technician transfers.
  • Processes miscellaneous volume payments.
  • Performs the roles of other members of the Accounting Department as necessary.
  • Communicates with others in the organization to answer accounting questions or resolve issues.
  • Performs other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of AgriVision Equipment Group and PrairieLand Partners (AVE-PLP, LLC).

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of AgriVision Equipment Group and PrairieLand Partners (AVE-PLP, LLC) Vision, Purpose and Guiding Principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Strong time management andorganizational skills.
  • Ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, meet deadlines, and multi-task.
  • PC skills utilizing Windows applications (especially Word and Excel) as well as ability to learn other accounting software systems.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

Education:


  • An Associate degree in accounting or related field is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred.

Experience:


  • Two or more years of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper is required.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen will be required prior to the start of employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
