Agricruit is Hiring an Equipment Operator/Laborer Near Washington, IN

Position: Equipment Operator/Laborer

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain agricultural equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, and other application machinery to apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural chemicals accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow prescribed application rates and guidelines provided by agronomists or supervisors to ensure proper product application and minimize environmental impact.
  • Calibrate equipment regularly to ensure accurate application rates and coverage, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Monitor weather conditions and field conditions to determine optimal times for application, taking into account factors such as wind speed, temperature, and humidity.
  • Keep accurate records of application activities, including product usage, field locations, and application rates, to comply with regulatory requirements and maintain traceability.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and minimize risks associated with chemical handling and application.
  • Collaborate with agronomists, farmers, and other team members to plan and coordinate application schedules and prioritize tasks based on seasonal demands and crop requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime during critical periods of application.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in application technology, equipment, and regulatory requirements to continually improve efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Provide support to other farm operations as needed, such as planting, harvesting, and field preparation, to contribute to overall farm productivity and success.

Are You Qualified?

  • Able to work overtime and occasional weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing and able to maintain a Class A CDL and appropriate endorsements (with our assistance).
  • Must be willing to submit to a DOT drug test and background.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
