Summary:

AgriNorthwest is seeking a collaborative and team-oriented Grain Operator who safely performs all phases of grain elevator and drying equipment operation. This full-time role ensures clean and efficient operations while meeting customers’ expectations of product timeliness and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in front-end and skid-loader operation and preventive maintenance.Responsible for safety operation and limited training of other crew members.

• Collaborate to determine grain grade factors and reduce quality discounts associated with grade factors.

• Demonstrate understanding of facility grain flow and equipment operation and is able to quickly route grain to proper equipment and locations.

• Carry out truck unloading and binning procedures.

• Operate grain facility equipment to load specified grades and weights of grain on both rail carts and trucks.

• Operate heavy machinery to assist in grain facility grounds maintenance which includes front loaders, dump trucks, back-hoes, water trucks, etc.

• Take appropriate action and troubleshoot malfunctions to quickly resume normal operations.

• Perform rail operations: prep, unloading/loading rail cars, and locomotive operation.

• Be aware and upkeep inventory location, storage levels, and associated grade factors for quality control.

• Become familiar with standard commodity shipping/warehousing practices and assist customers to maintain good customer relations.

• Qualify for all OEP and DEP incentive payments on all rail shipments.

• Strive to help maintain the value of the equipment, facility, and its assets.

• Champion all safety guidelines to keep self and team members safe at work.

• Attend required training and meetings to keep current on updated procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 year grain elevator experience with mechanical skills.

• Valid, in-state driver’s license.

• First-Aid and CPR certifications.

• Electrical knowledge a plus.

• Strong demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and trouble-shooting skills

• Work involves but is not limited to lifting 30lbs and occasional lifting up to 70 pounds, bending, carrying, walking, twisting, holding, squeezing, kneeling, sitting, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working at heights, repetitively throughout work period.
