The Compliance RN works on a collaborative team including the Director of Compliance, RN Compliance Auditor, and Quality Manager.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS ROLE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

The Compliance RN assists in ensuring Agrace programs meet federal, state, local and accrediting agency requirements in all areas of the agency. Under the direction of the Director, Quality & Compliance, the Compliance RN is responsible for the auditing and monitoring plan, responds to document requests from various government bodies and participates in compliance improvement projects.

  • Auditing and Monitoring Plan
    • Coordinate all auditing and monitoring plan activities with appropriate stakeholders.
    • Participate in the identification of risk areas, analyze and assist with development and implementation of corrective action plans, and communication to stakeholders.
    • Develop monitoring tools for areas of concern to effectively measure performance against compliance obligations and report results.
  • Clinical Documentation
    • Serve as resource and liaison to external clinical documentation auditors and surveyors.
    • Review and provide appropriate documentation requested by regulatory bodies, attorneys or insurance companies, as delegated.
    • Participate in projects related to process improvement and/or regulatory changes involving documentation within the electronic health record.
    • Provide end user support for documentation questions and feedback.
  • Policy, Procedure, Protocol for Regulations
    • Utilize relevant health care compliance information from accreditation program(s), national and local hospice and palliative care organizations and regulating agencies to remain current on regulatory requirements and help prepare Agrace for industry and regulatory changes.
    • Assist in the development, review, updates and implementation of policies & procedures, written materials and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, agency standards and audit findings.
  • Compliance Improvement Projects & Investigations
    • Conduct investigations related to internal incident reporting.
    • Assist with patient chart review and draft compliance related correspondence for patient/family relations issues.
    • Develop and provide education to staff on compliance issues or changes.
    • Participate in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Other Duties
  • Participate in internal work groups, meetings and committees relative to position responsibilities.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Associate’s degree of Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Current unrestricted Wisconsin State RN license
  • 2 years’ minimum experience in a hospital or hospice setting
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement and/or compliance auditing practices.
  • Knowledge of hospice regulation and operations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and payment methodologies, billing, health documentation and quality monitoring processes.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others
  • Experience using industry specific software
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to be flexible in time and task to meet organizational needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property.
  • Ability to work at various Agrace locations.
  • Ability to use proper body mechanics and standard precautions
