The Cook II works with an interdisciplinary team of RNs, CNAs, SWs, and other kitchen professionals to deliver personalized, fresh, and health meals to Agrace patients, guests, and staff.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS ROLE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
The Agrace Cook II is responsible for ensuring high-quality meals appropriate to each customer’s needs. With focus on quality, communication, and service excellence, the Cook II is responsible for kitchen operations and environmental safety in the Agrace kitchens and has responsibility for managing process and workflows within the kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Kitchen Flow Coordination Manage processes and workflows within the kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Ensure inventory management including ordering product rotating product, and making recommendations for product use. Coordinate batch work.
Manage day-of event needs based on predetermined menu and event selections. Supervise, train, and direct volunteers to assist with day-to-day kitchen operations and special projects.
Kitchen Operations Prepare and deliver appetizing patient meals appropriate to patient diet type and / or customer request.
Ensure consistency and quality of all kitchen products and meals by using established workflows / systems, tasting food, presenting the food properly, and following Agrace recipes.
Complete tasks within the required timelines and collaborates shift-to-shift. Request orders of kitchen food and supplies in accordance with the established ordering schedule.
Stock and rotate food and supplies in the kitchen, nutrition centers, vending areas, and storage areas. f. Assist throughout the kitchen and café as required to meet production requirements.
Understand kitchen financials and demonstrate proper judgement when making operational choices.
Environmental Safety Follow all internal and external policies and procedures regarding safely preparing, packaging, storing, and serving food.
Ensure the work area is kept clean, safe, and stocked appropriately for use at all times.
Promptly reports patient and family concerns to Executive Chef. Ensure good food is served. Stops food from going out if quality is in question.
Provides feedback, support, and coaching to coworkers as needed to ensure quality.
Other Duties Participate in internal work groups, meetings and committees relative to position responsibilities.
