Job Title: Proposal Writer II

SUMMARY

Agile Defense, Inc. is seeking a Proposal Writer to join our team in Reston, VA.

Customize existing content to a new proposal, and create new content as needed, interviewing Subject Matter Experts, taking extensive notes and turning those notes into section writing. Write compliant, compelling proposals against tight deadlines.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Supports the proposal process with strong technical proposal writing, from pre-proposal groundwork (internal kickoff, external kickoff, and sessions for black hat, storyboarding, risk mitigation, and differentiators and win themes) through BAFO/Orals.

·Coordinates with the current Proposal Manager, Program Managers, BD/Capture Managers, subject matter experts, and other team members to develop winning proposals.

·Ability to meet tight deadlines.

·Monitors status of proposal development-related documents for completeness, compliance with RFP requirements, and inclusion of win themes and discriminators.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Background, and Years of Experience

·Bachelor’s Degree, English preferred but not required.

·Minimum five years of experience, either writing technical sections of proposals, or writing technical/user manuals in an IT environment.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills

·A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MS SharePoint, document configuration management tools, and Adobe Acrobat.

·An in-depth understanding of at least one IT specialization; a broader understanding of numerous branches is preferable.

·Ability to write, review and edit proposal content for clarity, grammar, and proper use of technical or customer terminology.

Preferred Skills

·Photoshop.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions

·Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Strength Demands

·Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
