Employment Type: 6-month contract (open to W-2, 1099, and C2C) the contract can extend multiple years if the position expectations are being met

We are seeking a talented and experienced Embedded Video Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality video content to our customers. You will be responsible for various tasks related to the video engineering aspects of our Set-Top Boxes (STBs).

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain C code related to video decoding, processing, and playback on the STB platform.
• Integrate the STB with video delivery protocols (e.g., IPTV, OTT) and ensure seamless content reception and display.
• Work with video codecs, transcoding, and video processing libraries to optimize video delivery performance.
• Collaborate with video quality monitoring and testing teams to identify and troubleshoot video delivery issues on the STB.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest video compression formats (e.g., MPEG2, H.264) and video streaming protocols (e.g., HLS, RTMP) relevant to STB video delivery.
• Participate in the design and development of video features for the STB.
• (Optional) Leverage experience with Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems used for secure video content delivery on STBs.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in video engineering, preferably with a focus on Set-Top Boxes.
• Strong understanding of the video delivery pipeline within STBs, from content reception to display.
• Solid experience with C programming, including object-oriented programming principles and debugging techniques.
• Familiarity with video codecs, transcoding, and video processing concepts.

Bonus Points for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with video quality monitoring tools and performance testing methodologies.
• Current or previous experience in the Telecom industry.
