Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care and treatment for patients with wounds. This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and contribute to their healing process.
Duties:
- Assessing and evaluating patients' wounds, including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and diabetic ulcers
- Developing and implementing individualized wound care plans based on patients' needs
- Administering appropriate wound care treatments, such as debridement, dressing changes, and application of topical medications
- Monitoring and documenting wound healing progress
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Providing patient education on wound care techniques and preventive measures
- Utilizing specialized skills such as lift techniques, Botulinum toxin treatment, sonography, and pain management
- Maintaining accurate medical documentation and records
- Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and safe environment
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license in Virginia
- Minimum [2] years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Certification in Wound Care (WCC) preferred
- In-depth knowledge of wound physiology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems
