We are looking for an on-call Archaeologist, that is Secretary of the Interior qualified, to conduct cultural resources work and management in locations across the US.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct Phase I survey, Phase II surveys, testing and data recovery, monitoring, site documentation, and artifact processing.
• Create site forms, GPS mapping, and site feature and profile maps.
• Identify precontact and historic period sites, artifacts, and features.
• Conduct cultural resource background research including soils/natural resources/cultural background, SHPO databases, GLO plats, ethnographies, land patents/historic maps, and tax assessments.
• Oversee field crew.
• Develop consultation packages including state-specific SHPO forms for Section 106 compliance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in related field 
• Must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualifications standards in archaeology
• Experience as an Archaeology Field Supervisor
• Preferred Registered Professional Archaeologist
• Familiarity with Section 106 process
• Expertise with all programs in the Microsoft Suite
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work in adverse conditions and in steep terrain 
• Detail oriented and motivated self-starter
• Proficient in the use of technology to include, but not limited to GPS and other data collection devises, use of online databases, and digital cameras
• Travel may be required
