Buildings Maintenance / Carpenter

Position : Maintenance Employee (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Location : Rumford, RI

Overview :

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Employee to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have good carpentry skills and a strong aptitude for general building maintenance tasks, small equipment repair or troubleshooting, and basic electrical knowledge.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and repair of our facilities to maintain a safe and functional environment for our members and employees.

Responsibilities :

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing repairs, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
• Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential improvements.
• Repair or replace damaged fixtures, equipment, and building components as needed.
• Assist with the installation and assembly of furniture, shelving, and other fixtures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with building codes.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to address maintenance-related issues and support ongoing operations.
• Provide input on potential improvements to enhance efficiency, functionality, and safety within the facilities.

Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in carpentry or maintenance preferred, or similar work experience.
• Proven experience in general maintenance and repair work, with basic carpentry skills.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in maintenance and carpentry tasks.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, climbing, and prolonged standing.
• Open to seasonal, or part time work depending on the experience level of the candidate.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites, if required.
