Job Summary

*** If the applicant does not currently have a supplemental in Chemistry and Physics, the applicant must be willing to obtain a GELAP (General Education Limited Assignment Permit)- and meet the requirements to teach Physics and Chemistry the following school year, which are passing of all CSET in Physics and Chemistry or complete courses to get 18 units in the subject matter.***
Requirements / Qualifications
Must have a Valid California Teaching credential in Biology, and at least two years of teaching experience with ELA Authorization. Minimum Qualifications: • A Clear/Preliminary Credential, in the subject matter of: Single Subject or Multiple Subject credential with ELA Authorization, or a District Intern Permit, Short Term Staff Permit or Provisional Permit to teach (must have 18 subject units in the subject matter for a Short-Term Staff Permit or Provisional Permit). • Must have a B.A., B.S., or A.A. Degree (when applicable). • Valid Driver's License and insurance. Fundamental Responsibilities: Provide instruction to at-risk students. Teach content and skills in the assigned subject matter. Develop and implement lesson plans for multi-subject and/or single subject curriculum. To improve academic skills and to provide career and vocational awareness/education. Instruct Students in citizenship, and basic communication skills. This position needs to work effectively with multi-cultural/diverse groups, and have the ability to establish a positive relationship with Students possess knowledge of concepts in computers in an instructional environment. Must be able to work with cooperative group methods.
