Lab Coordinator

The lab manager oversees lab operations by providing real-time support to the lab users. The lab manager provides oversight of operations for shared workspaces, teams, and workflows within the lab which is home to several distinct groups within the DSPA.

Service/Deliverables:

• Ensure a safe, secure, and efficient lab environment for all users
• Manage rework and direct the team in the execution of rework assignments and other test tasks for product support.
• Delivery of Technical documentation including specifications, user manuals, and SOPs
• Assist with budget oversight for lab and team programs, asset management and periodic equipment calibration/maintenance, external partners/vendors and other projects
• Manage logistics for large lab operation execution. Work with facilities to secure and equip appropriate laboratory spaces.
• Ability to complete Safety and Risk Assessments for compliance with safety standards, ergonomics, and hazard mitigation
• Set up and manage team members in processing and logistics of large shipments of development hardware. Use planning and load-balancing of laboratory resources to accomplish operations in an efficient and timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of work experience in consumer electronics/embedded systems design.
• Hands-on experience in PCB rework, prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification and manufacturing support.
• Experience in laboratory management. Knowledge of best practices for lab training and safety
• Familiarity with common ee lab instruments including DMMs, power supplies, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with vendor management including onboarding, contracts, and performance management.
• Strong planning, negotiation, and troubleshooting skills. Able to interact effectively with teams of different disciplines and find solutions to needs for lab space, capabilities, and support.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
