Job Description
This posting is for a Part time, non-exempt position. This position is responsible for monitoring of the health and safety of horses and livestock overnight as well as reporting any facility issues that may arise. Horse and livestock checks throughout the night are required. Tasks that are also performed include: watering and dragging the arenas, watering horses, medicating horses or livestock, checking in/checking out horses that come by commercial shippers during the night, clearing snow and salting sidewalks before students arrive, assisting with housekeeping duties, and inventorying staff owned horses.
Essential Functions
This position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office environment.
1. Secure and patrol facilities as per schedule.
2. Close facilities as per schedule.
3. Monitor students and public in public areas.
4. Respond to emergency calls or fire alarms.
5. Water and drag the arenas on a nightly basis.
6. Assist with cleaning public areas, restrooms, and offices.
7. Repair items found during watch as abilities allow.
8. Water horses as needed.
9. Perform all other duties deemed appropriate for this position

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the facility. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
Walks, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift raise or lower an object from one level to another (includes upward and pulling motion) of 25-50 lbs. and must be able to carry/transport an object/equipment weighing 25-50 lbs
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma.
2. 6 months of work experience.
3. Individual must be capable of completing tasks without direct supervision and making decisions during an emergency situation
Preferred Education and Experience
1. A general knowledge of horse and livestock behavior as well as experience with farm equipment is beneficial.
