Job Description:

The Department of Animal Sciences is seeking two highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our dynamic team as an OPS for dairy cattle feeding research study. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the execution of feeding management protocols, sample collection, and processing to contribute to the advancement of our understanding of dairy cattle nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Feeding Management:
    • Implement feeding and feed sampling protocols for dairy cattle in accordance with the research study objectives.
    • Maintain records of feed composition, consumption, and related variables.
  2. Sample Collection:
    • Execute planned sampling activities, including feed, feces, digesta, and blood, ensuring compliance with study protocols.
    • Coordinate with the research team to schedule and perform timely sample collections.
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of collected samples.
  3. Sample Processing:
    • Organize and prepare collected samples for laboratory analysis, following standardized procedures.
    • Operate relevant equipment for sample processing, such as centrifuges, and moisture analyzers.
  4. Field Work:
    • Individual will be working at University of Florida Dairy unit.
    • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and adjustments to protocols.
This position will work 30-40 hours per week.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 per hour
