Job Description:
The Department of Animal Sciences is seeking two highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our dynamic team as an OPS for dairy cattle feeding research study. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the execution of feeding management protocols, sample collection, and processing to contribute to the advancement of our understanding of dairy cattle nutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
Feeding Management:
Implement feeding and feed sampling protocols for dairy cattle in accordance with the research study objectives.
Maintain records of feed composition, consumption, and related variables.
Sample Collection:
Execute planned sampling activities, including feed, feces, digesta, and blood, ensuring compliance with study protocols.
Coordinate with the research team to schedule and perform timely sample collections.
Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of collected samples.
Sample Processing:
Organize and prepare collected samples for laboratory analysis, following standardized procedures.
Operate relevant equipment for sample processing, such as centrifuges, and moisture analyzers.
Field Work:
Individual will be working at University of Florida Dairy unit.
Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and adjustments to protocols.
This position will work 30-40 hours per week.
Expected Salary:
$15.00 per hour
