Ag Jobs is Hiring a Henley High School Agriculture Teacher/FFA Advisor Near Klamath Falls, OR

The teacher is the primary instructional delivery person in the classroom. The teacher instructs
professional technical education classes in manufacturing technology and agricultural sciences. The teacher supervises student activities related so that students develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes related to employment in the manufacturing and agricultural occupations. Student achievement and growth are primarily dependent on the work and efforts of the classroom teacher. The teacher must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
The position is demanding, varied and complex, including supervising a CTSO and extended contract requirements.
Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the district's communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the MSDS sheets. This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Necessarily Limited To)
1. Provide supportive and effective classroom management for students
2. Plan effective and appropriate daily lessons and unit plans incorporating industry as well as school wide initiatives (i.e. reading and
writing across the curriculum).
3. Effectively collaborate with district PLC.
4. Teach occupational knowledge and skills in the areas of safety, machine processes, metal fabrication, welding, heat treating, cutting,
communications, career preparation, and agricultural science.
5. Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
6. Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and district.
7. Actively participates with Southern Oregon Education Service District and Regional CTE Director
8. Actively partners with Community College(s) to create seamless transitions for students.
9. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
10. Develop, implement and maintain a system to track and maintain tools and equipment (loss prevention and continued maintenance)
11. Maintain a budget with a positive balance and maintain and turn in all associated records in a timely manner.
12. Establish and maintain a robust and energetic advisory committee and meet with them no less than once per semester.
13. Attend district sectional, state and national student competitions.
14. Cooperate with other team members in promoting activities of a National FFA Organization chapter or like group. Serve as advisor or
co-advisor for FFA, or like group
15. Coordinate the placement, supervision, and evaluation of students on Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) sites as assigned.
16. Selects and requisitions required instructional equipment, supplies, and materials
17. Ensures that all lab facilities (animal facilities, greenhouses, fields) are maintained, secured and safe.
18. Pursue continuous professional growth.
19. Participates cooperatively in school, area, district-wide, and state activities.
20. Adhere to all Oregon Administrative Rules related to licensed educators.
21. Adheres to all standards established by Teachers Standards and Practices Commissions for Competent and Ethical Educator.
22. Maintain appropriate licenses and training hours as required.
23. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
24. Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION:
  • 225 day contract
  • Family medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 6% PERS paid by District
  • $49,907-91,207/Annual 2024-2025 school year
