Overview RES is seeking a skilled and dedicated Grower (Nursery Technician II) to join our team. This position will report to our Brodhead, WI office. The mission: As a Grower, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining plants both in an indoor growing setting and for the care and maintenance of these perennials when they are moved outside. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of horticulture, gardening, and plant care techniques. Planting, watering, and fertilizing crops to ensure healthy growth
Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Monitoring plant health and identifying signs of disease or pests and maintaining plant health using cultural practices such as quarantines, biological controls, and pesticides.
Monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and lighting to optimize plant growth
Pruning and trimming plants to promote proper shape and growth
Maintaining accurate records of planting schedules, crop yields, and other relevant data.
Inventory control: Oversee management of moving stock from production areas to final holding areas with accurate inventory counts
Operating and maintaining irrigation systems and other equipment
Collaborating with other team members to coordinate staff deployment for completion of tasks, supervising workers to complete those tasks

Strong knowledge of farming, gardening, or horticulture practices
Basic math skills for measuring and calculating quantities of fertilizers or pesticides
Ability to collect and analyze data related to plant growth and yield

Familiarity with greenhouse operations and maintenance
Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
Experience with irrigation systems and the ability to properly irrigate plants
