Summary of Job Duties:
The individual holding this position will be responsible for timely communication of research, extension, and educational impacts from the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the Arkansas Water Resource Center. Communication activities could include writing news releases; creating web content; publishing research, extension, and teaching updates for a general audience; creating flyers and promotional material (infographics); photography; and managing social media content. Incumbent will plan, organize, and/or attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and press conferences on behalf of the Department and Center.
Qualifications:
Minimum
  • B.S. or B.A. in Ag Communication, Communication, or Journalism
  • Photography skills and image editing proficiency
  • Writing proficiency
Preferred
  • M.S. or M.A. in Ag Communication, Communication, or Journalism
  • Prior experience with web management, graphic design, social media platform management
  • 2 years of experience writing and editing, preferably with a focus on science writing
