Numerous Openings:
Location of internship will be discussed with hiring officials during interview.
An internship with Heartland Co-op works toward preparing students for a full-time position within the Agriculture industry. From day one, interns will attain real-world experience with Heartland Co-op Agronomists, customers, and partner companies. Additional development opportunities include:
* Interacting with farmers to determine their needs and deliver personalized solutions
* Learning to identify weeds, insects, and diseases that cause damage to fields
* Attending sales and product training to encourage life-long learning
* Collecting and reporting white mold and tissue samples
* Supplier and lab facility tours

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Math Ability:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, accounting, and precision ag software.
Certificates and Licenses:Work toward obtaining a CCA certificate as well as any other appropriate certifications.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and commercial insurability at all times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
