AFW proudly participates in preserving the environment by recycling as much material as possible. AFW is looking for a Recycling Associate who is responsible for processing material to be recycled. The Recycling Associate will operate and clean The Runi/Strautmann (Styrofoam Recycling Machine), The Card Board Bailer, The Plastic/Foam Bailer, and the Trash Shredder. The Recycling Associate will also stage the processed material onto pallets and safely prepare the pallets to be shipped, all training provided by AFW. Pay: $17-$19/HR Weekly Pay *** Higher Rates are Determined and Verified Through Experience*** 

Job Requirements: 

• Ability to be trained on using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
• Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker, helpful but not required.
• Ability to be trained on Lock Out Tag Out (L.O.T.O) procedures and perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
• Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
• Have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Job Expectations: 

• Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness. 
• Process plastic, foam, cardboard, and styrofoam to be recycled.
• Inspect Styrofoam, cardboard, plastic, and foam to ensure it is free of tape, packaging boards, and any other debris prior to being processed.
• Ensure all bails are bailed safely and ready for transport.
• Move bails onto pallets and transport for shipping by operating a forklift or pallet jack.
• Process all non-recyclable material.
• Clean and maintain the equipment and work area.
• Periodically empty all trash cans throughout the facility.
• Clean and maintain the bail storage area.
• Operate snow removal equipment during the winter (For Colorado Stores) to keep all walkways, and building entrances cleared and safe.
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the recycling equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the grounds and the building are always properly cared for and cleaned up to AFW standards.
• Report all equipment issues, potential liability, and recommendations for solving such problems o the AFW management team. 
• Ability to efficiently work independently or under supervision.
• Maintain a neat and safe work environment.

Physical Requirements: 

• Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and, at times, congested areas
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily
• Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
• Requires lift, lower, push, and pull all sizes of equipment, trees, shrubs, etc., up to 100 lbs. frequently 
• The Recycling Associate position requires lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving equipment 8 hours or more daily.

• Extreme temperature fluctuations in the warehouse.
