Yoga Instructor - Middle School Students [After School Summer Program]

Role Overview

The Yoga instructor will lead classes for young students, teaching them the fundamentals of yoga, including postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices. The role involves creating a nurturing and supportive environment where students can explore yoga and its benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction: Conduct yoga sessions that are engaging and appropriate for 1st to 3rd grade students, focusing on basic poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques.
• Curriculum Development: Develop a yoga curriculum that is tailored to the developmental needs of young children, promoting physical health and emotional well-being.
• Student Engagement: Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages students to participate actively and enjoy their yoga practice.
• Progress Monitoring: Assess and monitor the students' progress in yoga practice, providing feedback and adjustments to meet their individual needs.
• Safety and Well-being: Ensure all yoga activities are safe and conducive to the students' overall well-being.

Schedule

• Classes will be held in the afternoon, with specific times to be followed.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience: Proven experience in teaching yoga, especially to young children or in a school setting.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage young students and foster a love for yoga.
• Empathy and Patience: A patient and empathetic approach, capable of nurturing young students’ physical and emotional development.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods to the needs and abilities of young children.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
