Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION: This position is responsible for the development and organization of the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) and Trauma program. Responsible for all aspects of implementation for ACE/Trauma projects to include management, oversee all deliverables, research and reports, editing for writing and research, communications and materials. Evaluation and management of program. Support the organization’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: Honesty, Excellence Accountability, Respect and Teamwork. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Designs programs/selects strategies and content to meet identified needs of individuals or communities at universal, selected or indicated levels; prepares necessary materials.
  2. Facilitates educational and preventive programs within the community (as assigned) utilizing evidence informed strategies and programs to increase protective factors/reduce risk factors, develop positive coping skills and strengthen resilience.
  3. Supports local companies and community agencies by tailoring programs and to meet specialized needs and provides training to community members.
  4. Works collaboratively with community partners such as schools, businesses, faith-based groups, other agencies, and coalitions to achieve common goals using environmental strategies such as advocacy, policy change, enforcement, and marketing.
  5. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing periodicals, attending workshops and seminars and participating in webinars.
  6. Keeps accurate service records by completing required documentation including time sheets, activity logs and billing records.
  7. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance; works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
  8. Coordinate and assist in the development and maintenance of the ACEs and Trauma related program projects. 
  9. Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of program projects with timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  10. Manage all project deliverables. Responsible for all research, stakeholder participation and measurement and evaluation of programs. 
  11. Manage day-to-day public and private partnerships with a collaborative approach weaving together concurrent programs or other organizations to leverage and maximize resources to create community and population-based change.
  12. Oversee and ensure coordination and facilitation of all, organized activities such as coalition meetings, trainings, project events and conferences.
  13. Develop online and in-person trainings to increase awareness ACEs and trauma. 
  14. Completion of progress reporting and updates for all ACE/Trauma projects. 
  15. Conduct research as. to ensure accurate information and materials are provided.
  16. Develop ACE/Trauma communications and materials.
  17. Train new staff for all ACEs/Trauma related projects.
  18. Train ACE/Trauma internal trainers. Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers. 
  19. Develop partnerships with entities recognized as being integral in meeting project goals. 
  20. Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.
  21. Assist in budget preparation, review, and execution. 
  22. Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance.

Job Requirements

Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices):Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with personnel, ability to remain calm under stress and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

EDUCATION:Required: High school diploma or equivalent 
Desirable: Associates degree in relevant field 

EXPERIENCE:Required: Two (2) years’ experience in public health or human services, project development, working with committees and cross-sector collaboratives, and event coordination. Professional experience in understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences, toxic stress and trauma-informed care.
