Ran-Tech Engineering & Aerospace is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Near Clackamas, OR

Hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

**During the Summer time (05/27 - 09/01), the schedule will be on a 4x10s basis, Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm. With potential overtime to be worked on Fridays, if necessary**

The maintenance technician is the first responder when equipment has issues or preventative maintenance is to be performed. They occasionally perform or facilitate work to the building and the equipment therein based on qualifications, laws, regulations, and warranties. They are typically not responsible for daily maintenance or cleaning of equipment although some equipment is solely cared for by maintenance. In the process of a repair, the parts and areas around a piece of equipment will be cleaned by the maintenance technician. The maintenance technician must role model safety in all aspects of their work while also ensuring that contractors meet the required standards ultimately protecting the employees and assets from harm. They must communicate schedule and technical information relating to the status or repair across multiple organizations in a manner that minimizes negative impact. The maintenance technician maintains the library of equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, and specifications for all equipment. The maintenance tech is also responsible for the repair facility and all the spare parts and tools stored within. In some cases, they will ensure there is stock on certain wear/consumable items.

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose failures, source, and replace parts on equipment.
  • Contact and coordinate with Contractors for electrical, plumbing, construction, etc.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturers for technical support.
  • Process the necessary paperwork involved in daily work such as preventative maintenance work orders, purchase requisitions and other documents specific to work area.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work on the most complex equipment and situations to ensure minimal down time of manufacturing equipment so production targets are achieved. Maintenance can include cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun. Inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Must have knowledge and awareness to comply with all standard OSHA and State safety regulations and policies, RE: Lock Out Tag procedures for all types of equipment, proper handling of solvents and chemicals according to MSDS sheets, vision, hearing and respiratory protection, and proper lifting techniques as may be required within the scope of the job at hand.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
  • Modify equipment and facilities to support Lean and Safety.
  • Ability to perform tasks while utilizing best safety practices.
  • Effectively & timely communicate maintenance needs and schedules with co-workers across all departments and levels.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Ability to behave respectfully and work collaboratively with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Highly Desired Attributes:

  • Any formal Maintenance certifications applicable to Machining and Manufacturing Equipment
  • Advanced problem-solving tool knowledge and use (Fishbone, kata, is-is not, 5 whys, etc.).
  • Automation and automation programming experience
  • Machining experience
  • Welding experience

Education and/or Experience: 5 years minimum working in equipment maintenance or ASE certification, or AS Degree in manufacturing, electronics, computers, controls, etc.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English.

Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as well as the ability to convert units of measures. Ability to work with GD&T methodology and ability to extrapolate various measurements.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, MS Edge, Google Chrome, in an updated Windows environment; General understanding of enterprise software (ERP/MRP systems).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus and discern color variations. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use stairs.

Employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, and/or gloves within the manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may reach higher levels depending on machines operated and work performed.
