Position Overview:
As a Materials Manager, your responsibilities will include managing inventory levels, coordinating contract, purchasing, and procurement activities. This key role demands strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to resolving logistical challenges. By ensuring efficient material flow and inventory accuracy, the Materials Manager will directly impact the productivity and profitability of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Utilize Fabsuite/Tekla EPM proficiently to oversee and coordinate RFQs, Cut Lists, POs, Inventory, and Receiving data, ensuring seamless workflow and accurate record-keeping.
· Develop and manage the procurement activities to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of materials, components, and services
· Lead negotiations with suppliers, meticulously crafting and managing purchase orders to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
· Proactively address any quality, quantity, or delivery issues that may arise within the supply chain, employing swift and effective resolution strategies to minimize disruptions.
· Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities across the procurement process, driving efficiency and financial optimization.
· Cultivate and nurture relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual benefit.
· Conduct comprehensive assessments of supplier performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing improvement initiatives where necessary to uphold quality and reliability standards.
· Oversee all aspects of material inventories, including Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) items and Vendor Managed Inventories (VMI), ensuring adequate stock levels and optimal inventory management practices.
· Drive continuous improvement efforts within the inventory management process, streamlining transactions, enhancing storage methodologies, and implementing cycle counting procedures to uphold inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
· Proficiency in Tekla, with hands-on experience preferred, enabling efficient utilization of Fabsuite/Tekla EPM for material management tasks.
· Demonstrated expertise in steel fabrication procurement, with a deep understanding of the industry's unique requirements.
· Proven track record of implementing successful cost reduction strategies, showcasing the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities for savings without compromising quality or efficiency.
· Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitating clear and concise interaction with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
· Outstanding problem-solving abilities, adept at swiftly analyzing complex issues, developing innovative solutions, and implementing effective resolutions to overcome challenges.
· Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate team members, foster a collaborative work environment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all operations.
