Your day-to-day work will include:

Support audit remediation and sustainment to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for managing DLA’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Internal Control program. Includes advising and assisting DLA in sustaining compliance for fully auditable financial statement reporting understanding DLA end-to-end business policies and operational processes to provide accounting, ERM, internal controls, and audit support. Additionally, this involves support in audit activities such as assessing, identifying enterprise-wide risks and documenting and resolving Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs).

Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyzing business processes, i.e., policies and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management.
  • Provide project management support for the design and implementation of ERM related to audit-related activities.
  • Reviewing NFRs and working with stakeholders on remediation techniques.
  • Identifying financial statement deficiencies and performing root causes to develop detailed recommendations.
  • Perform tests on business processes and system controls.
  • Assisting with the implementation of management solutions, include
  • Perform data mining/cleansing, data analysis, data reconciliations, and assist with financial statement analysis.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Federal Financial functionality and ability to identify current trends in information technology.
  • Understanding of GAAP, GAGAS, OMB A-123, A -126, and FASAB.

Experience Requirements:

Mandatory: Five years of accounting or financial management experience, including three or more years of progressive experience in leading business management and/or financial management services projects. Experience performing financial statement audits in DoD, federal agencies, or commercial Fortune 400 companies and/or preparation of assertion packages.

Preferred:

Federal financial statements audit experience:

  • Audit readiness preparation for an SBR or PP&E audit IAW FIAR Guidance
  • Preparations and/or reviews of SBR or E&C assessable unit assertion packages IAW FIAR Guidance
  • GAAP / GAGAS / ICOFR experience
  • FASAB, SSAC, and SFFAS experience
  • OMB Circulars A-123, A-127, A-134, A-136 and other OMB policies
  • DoD and DLA financial management policies and procedures
  • DLA policies, systems, and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management
  • Familiarity with FMS
  • CDFM or CGFM certification

Certification Requirements:

Mandatory: CPA or similar professional certification required (e.g., CISA, CIA). At least 20 CPE credits each fiscal year and 120 credits over a three-year rolling period.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Four-year degree in accounting or business management-related field from an accredited institution

Work hours:
