The Controls and Automation Engineer will: * Develop the next generation Data Acquisition, Recording and Controls system for the Crew and Thermal Systems Division
* Troubleshoot and maintain existing Thermal/ Vacuum Chamber measurement and instrumentation systems
* Create and upgrade HMI screens and program/modify PLCs
* Integrate Data Acquisition systems into SCADA platform
* Perform system checkouts, procurements, instrument calibration, testing/maintenance activities and documentation
* Perform other duties as required Requisition Qualifications: * Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area. * Computer programming experience
* Experience with SQL database
* Understanding of electrical drawings and procedures for instrumentation systems
* Experience with data acquisition systems and their application
* Experience with instrument specification and calibration procedures
* Proficiency using computers
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational skills Requisition Preferences : * Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics or control engineering from an accredited engineering school with five (5) years of related engineering experience * Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures
* Expertise in SCADA systems (eg ICONICS, Ignition), SQL Server * Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and programming software
