AEVEX AEROSPACE is Hiring an Aircraft Mechanic 1 Near Murrieta, CA

An aircraft mechanic at AEVEX Aerospace is responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft systems and components. They inspect and diagnose malfunctions, use power and hand tools to fix parts and ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains and repairs the mechanical components of aircrafts
  • Keeps maintenance and repair logs
  • Understands and applies guidelines from manuals and blueprints
  • Takes direction from project leads and shop supervisor
  • Maintains aircraft standards as required by the FAA
  • Supports problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
  • Follows safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensures all work is done efficiently and adheres to aviation safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Maintains a clean work environment in full compliance with company standards and customer and government regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • One year aviation experience, aviation maintenance schooling or similar work experience required
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment
  • Familiar with technical manuals and ATA codes
  • Knowledge of servicing systems
  • Understanding of basic aircraft documentation (non-routines, work continuation)
  • Familiar with aircraft standard practices and AC 43.13
  • Basic understanding of part identification and control tags (inventory, serviceable, unserviceable, rejected)
  • Ability to work independently with direct supervision
  • Detailed oriented, organized and a team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a time sensitive industry

Applicant Acknowledgement of Company Drug / Alcohol Testing: As a condition of employment with this company, I understand that, in accordance with the FAA Anti-Drug Testing Program, I will be required to take a pre-employment drug test. The anti-drug program requires urine testing for the following five specific drugs - marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, and PCP. If hired, I further understand that I will be part of the company's ongoing drug / alcohol misuse testing program which includes random, reasonable suspicion, post accident and return to duty testing. The Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program requires evidential breath testing (EBT) conducted by qualified technicians on approved testing equipment. If I either refuse to cooperate with the mandatory FAA Anti-Drug / Alcohol Misuse testing program as implemented by this company, or if I have a verified positive drug test reported to the company after the careful review of the Medical Review Officer, I understand that I will not be considered for employment. I acknowledge that I have been advised of the Company Drug/Alcohol Testing outlined above.

AEVEX must ask applicants whether he or she has tested positive, or refused to test on any pre-employment drug or alcohol test administered by a company to which the employee applied for, but did not obtain, safety-sensitive transportation work covered by Department of Transportation (DOT) agency drug and alcohol testing rules during the past two (2) years. If the applicant admits that he or she had a positive test or a refusal to test, AEVEX must not use the employee to perform safety-sensitive functions for the company, until and unless the applicant documents successful completion of the return-to-duty process (49 CFR Part 40.25 (j) ).
