Supervises production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment: follows production schedule and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.Ensures proper staffing at each process · Ensures employees are properly trained/verifies competence to perform their job duties · Ensures that work instructions are understood and adhered to by all employees · Ensures coordination between lines to cover breaks and lunches as needed · Ensures quality of finished goods by use of first off inspections, end of shift reviews, and LPA’s · Ensures that lines do not shut down due to lack of material · Ensure proper production quantities are produced per schedule · End of shift inspection of scrap bins to verify count to production report (along with quality inspector and process tech) · Ensures that staff is available as needed for sorts and rework as required · Responsible for new hire training, i.e. safety, PPE, ISO & TS requirements · Ensures that all timecard records are verified and accurate for production employees · Schedules employee time off to ensure adequate staffing levels are available for production schedules · Takes part in selection process of production staff · Performs annual employee evaluations as well as new hire evaluations · Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained · Participate or delegate and supervise employees assigned to cross functional teams · Requisitions supplies, and materials as needed for production floor · Will be required to rotate and learn all operations per work cell · Must be a “lean thinker” by helping develop and maintain standards in accordance with lean Manufacturing principles. Must be able to process required paperwork · Is conscientious, and follows all plant ISO 14001 & TS 16949 requirements · Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (5S) · Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requires a high school diploma/GED and 3-5 years’ production supervision experience; or Associates degree or better with 1-3 years’ experience. · Must have good interpersonal skills · Good computer skills. Microsoft Office, time clock systems, QAD a plus · Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. · Working knowledge of applicable international standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001)
