About the Role

As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for safe, proper and efficient operation and maintenance of all plant equipment at the production facility. You will be responsible for maintaining plant efficiencies, engineering and procurement of efficiency monitoring equipment. The ideal candidate will partner with the management on key initiatives and will develop, implement, and manage various projects and programs in support of overall business effectiveness.

Your work within the engineering team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology.

What You Will Do

  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance and Quality to identify opportunities to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Monitor plant efficiencies and make recommendations to the operator’s site manager if plan processes require adjustments. Analyze data on the process to troubleshoot process issues and maximize plant performance
  • Respond to operating needs. Provide lead role for plant and equipment performance evaluation; optimizing resource use and maximize reliable power generation
  • Write clear and accurate equipment and process procedures for manufacturing employees
  • Responsible for process sheet development for assigned area
  • Support process changes, design changes, trial parts, and Kaizen improvement activities
  • Lead equipment acquisition or modifications to support new model launches
  • Provide engineering representation for cross-functional activities involving other disciplines such as facilitates and controls
  • Demonstrate data-driven problem-solving methodology and can effectively present work to all levels of management
  • Conduct regular safety and process audits
  • Lead buy-off activities
  • Lead installation schedule development
  • Lead production launch and trials
  • Report out results

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering)
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Must have a good understanding of root cause analysis (RCA), problem-solving techniques, and process control management for quality and throughput issue resolution.
  • Proficient in MS Office application and knowledge of Auto CAD and Inventor.
  • Ability to quickly obtain a working knowledge of lithium-ion batteries
  • Independent, driven, eager to learn, strong time-management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with conferencing system (Microsoft Teams).
  • High level of applicable technical skills with
  • Working knowledge of project management related to the introduction of products to market
  • Ability to work and lead contractors through the process of RFP to commissioning of equipment
  • Ability to follow specific directions and also to work independently in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Experience with contributing to the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Experience in information gathering, tracking, and consolidation
  • Effectively coordinates schedules and meetings using tools such as Outlook, Google Calendar, Office 365, etc.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex information in a simple way
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.

What is “Nice to Have”?

  • At least one engineering co-op rotation at a high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • High level of applicable technical skills with AutoCAD, Inventor, Statistics, Basic Engineering Principles and reporting of Technical Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing, EV manufacturing, or refinery operations
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous
  • Cross-cultural experience

  • New model experience and equipment design, installation, and commissioning
  • Start-up experience

Work Environment
