Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner supports the organization through work in several areas of human resources, including compensation, FMLA, employee relations, performance management and training.Essential Functions

  • Compensation
    • Conducts salary surveys and assists with analysis of compensation to ensure alignment with internal structure and external market while upholding non-discrimination practices.
    • Collaborates with leadership to annually update the compensation program.
    • Tracks incentive compensation plan calculations annually for Accounting.
  • FMLA
    • Administers FMLA, Workers Compensation and Disability requests and claims
  • Employee Relations and Performance Management
    • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness and compliance. Provides coaching and guidance to supervisors regarding feedback to employees.
    • Assists with creation of performance improvement plans and corrective action discussions.
    • Assesses and resolves employee relations matters with guidance from Director of HR; coaches supervisors on appropriate actions and provides thoughtful and objective consultation
    • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind voluntary separations. May assist with involuntary termination meetings.
  • Training
    • Coordinates training in various areas, including interviewing, hiring, terminations, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
    • Ensures company-wide compliance with training requirements of various agencies or certifications, such as OSHA and ISO.
  • Compliance
    • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and works with leadership to ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Additional Duties
  • Provides support for employees of Aerotechs global subsidiaries and satellite companies
  • Accurately responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
  • Assists with various employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, 401(k) program, ESOT, profit sharing
  • May act as back-up to HR Specialist for new employee orientations and onboarding, and processing employee changes in Aerotechs payroll and IT systems
  • Participates in various company audits as needed, such as 401(k), ESOT and Workers Compensation insurance
  • Generates reports, as needed
  • May perform supervisory responsibilities associated with the HR department
  • May prepare and file various mandated reports and forms, including but not limited to AAP, W-2s, ACA, EEO-1, VETS-100, Form 720 PCORI Fee
  • As assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Solid working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including but not limited to employee compensation, training, and performance management
  • Self-directed; able to prioritize work efficiently with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency
  • Sound problem solving and critical thinking abilities; able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail; able to produce error free work under time critical deadlines
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Google products

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least five years of related human resources experience
  • Industry-recognized Human Resources certification (SHRM; PHR) preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Aerotech does not provide US work authorization sponsorship for this position. OPT and CPT visa holders are not eligible for employment if they will need work authorization sponsorship at any time in the future.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment
  • May be required to sit for extended periods of time
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
