AeroSpec, Inc. offers a unique growth opportunity for the procurement professional by providing a wide variety of experience in purchasing, technical procurement research, and supply chain management.The Procurement Specialist has a dual role in the development of Automated Assembly and Test Systems at AeroSpec. As a Procurement Specialist, she/he is responsible to identify and qualify suppliers, create, and purchase orders from engineering Bill of Materials, establish commitment dates, rate supplier performance, and understand fast track and expediting requirements. This position works closely with the mechanical and electrical design engineering teams, understands technical procurement specifications and drawings, and assesses ways to mitigate risk. The Procurement Specialist is expected to develop and maintain solid relationships with critical suppliers.Essential Functions:
  • Purchase components, manufactured parts, electronic assembles and equipment.
  • Research technical specifications, cost, and availability of procured items
  • Provide technical and cost feedback to design engineering team.
  • Develop purchasing strategies based on supplier cost, quality, capacity, and delivery performance.
  • Review requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy and conformance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Expedite delivery schedules.
  • Manage existing vendor relationships and provide forecast data, determine purchase order requirements, and establish delivery terms.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in managing annual vendor performance evaluations
  • Provide project management feedback to create, coordinate, and track project plans for timely and efficient implementation of material changes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead and/or attend meetings related to procurement initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and market conditions by continuing education seminars and reading industry-related publications.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, operations, engineering, supply chain, or a related field or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field
  • Four (4) years of technical procurement experience
  • Two (2) years of manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain management
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Proven history of developing solid supplier relationships
  • Demonstrated success in expediting
  • Aptitude to solve challenging technical procurement issues
  • Basic proficiency in reading blueprints, visualizing 3D CAD models, and interpreting technical specifications, required
Desirable Additional Qualifications:
  • Engineering experience
  • Experience in Acumatica
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum or equivalent team-based environment
  • Experience with leading and mentoring peers
