Title: Technician - Avionics
Status: Hourly
Shift: Mon- Fri, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Required Education and Experience:
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years hands-on corporate, commercial, or military aircraft avionics / electrical required, in
a Part 145 Repair Station a strong plus.
• 2 years leading maintenance a plus.
• Current FAA A&P license in good standing a strong plus; not required.
• Expertise in avionics troubleshooting required on both airframe-level, and component-level
projects to determine scope of work required, materials and tooling required, and with skill to
accomplish proper repair.
• Background in airframe-level avionics reassembly and restoration a strong plus.
• Background in Garmin Avionics suite (G5000 or similar) a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Service
Bulletins, and other military or FAA approved or acceptable data and its usage, required.
• Flexibility to work changing shifts including on-call/AOG coverage to include nights and
weekends; on as needed or short notice basis, required.
• Experience navigating through military and/or FAA approved/accepted data to ensure all
tasks are being performed correctly according to the data mentioned and/or FAA
regulations.
Primary Duties:
• Airframe and component-level repair and restoration efforts, both short-term AOG and long-
term project builds. Performing the duties of an avionics technician.
• Example duties include avionics programing, database uploads, IFE configuration loads, on-
wing T/S, building test harnesses, wire harness fabrication, sys ops checks.
• Liaison with Engineering to develop technical data, when required.
• Communicate manpower, material, and tooling needs to complete all maintenance in the
quoted timeframe or timeframe mentioned within the contract/ SOW.
• Ensure all maintenance is being performed IAW the data listed in the task.
• Must adhere to all safety standards established by the Company and regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the job classification and nature of the business.
Essential Functions and Competencies:
• Must be self-motivated, conscientious and can prioritize multiple tasks in a high stress
environment.
• Must be computer proficient with ability to e-mail, word process, and work in spreadsheets.
• Must have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, teamwork ability, and a drive/passion
for the aerospace industry.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and exhibits positive, courteous
behavior with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Current valid Driver’s License with ability to drive for business needs, on occasion.
• High level of drive to grow within the repair-engineering world and the company.
• Sound judgment, completeness and accuracy are expected.
• Exercises some latitude in determining activities and approaches to completing assignments.
Abilities Requirements:
• The successful candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of airframe and
component-level repairs including strenuous work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
• Ability to stand for most of shift, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to climb a ladder, and obtain forklift certification, as it may be occasionally required.
• Travel may be required up to 10%; may include weekends.
• Ability to drive on occasion.
