Description
Assembly of composite detailed parts using various types of adhesives, epoxies, and hardware of cured detailed composite parts. Once trained, this technician should work with little or no supervision to complete task correctly. An excellent understanding of the following is important:
- Detailed assembly blueprint reading
- Using measuring devices
- Hand layouts of part assemblies and hole locations
- PPE (personal protection equipment)
- Knowledge of mixing adhesives and epoxies ratios
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electric power tools
- Knowledge of assembly and holding fixtures
- Ability to hold close tolerances
- Read and understand work orders
- Knowledge of drill bit and rivet sizes
- Assist improving processes and procedures
- Repair damaged assembly and holding fixtures
- Ability to assemble first articles
- Notify management of incorrect procedures in work orders
- Involved with assembly and holding fixture concepts on new products
- Solves issues in the assembly shop
The assembly technician will also be responsible for keeping their work area neat and clean and assist in keeping the assembly shop an organized work environment. They will also follow all company policies and perform any other tasks the Supervisor deems necessary.
