The Supplier Quality Assurance Organization is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL.
This individual will work with suppliers to review requirements upon purchase order receipt and ensure compliance, create insepction requirements, drive corrective actions (when necessary) and ensure continuous improvement. The position will serve as a liasion between the various program functions and the Supplier Quality Assurance group and coordinate with Quality Engineers and Inspectors in the field to meet the programs' needs. This position will have an emphasis on electronic hardware utilized on Aerojet Rocketdyne's in space propulsion systems.

25% - Visit suppliers and perform investigation and root cause analysis to drive improvements into their processes. Be accountable for assigned suppliers' performance and ensure suppliers are performing with a 100% quality rating.
25% - Visit suppliers to review product & process issues. Interface with internal and external customers; i.e., engineering, manufacturing, supplier, procurement to ensure requirements are met. Analyze supplier processes and planning to verify compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, processes, specifications, etc.
15% - Visit suppliers to review technical, quality and other contractual requirements and ensure the supplier has an adequate understanding to develop a plan to meet all the requirements. Review the suppliers' plans for adequacy and ensure all requirements are met. This includes, pre-award, post award, manufacturing readiness and other periodic reviews as requested.
15% - Work with suppliers to resolve issues with purchase order inspection packages. Investigate and report supplier quality history as requested by quality engineering or Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) management.
10% - Participates in managing the supplier ratings/scorecard system and overseeing periodic meetings.
10% - Work closely with Planners, Program Quality Engineers, and Receiving Inspection to resolve supplier issues.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Successful passing of initial and annual visual acuity exams required.
