AERMOR is Hiring a Linux System Administrator Near Suffolk, VA

AERMOR is seeking qualified candidates that will administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, and carry out system monitoring. The candidate will provide assistance on areas pertaining to networks, applications, and any customer-related issues to support the availability and security of computer systems. They will also administer physical and virtual Linux servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide Linux system administration support at the Subject Matter Expert level on RHEL.
  • Maintain system patches and security posture.
  • Maintain systems security posture.
  • Implement Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Examine security scans through Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) / Tenable and remediate vulnerabilities as needed.
  • Improve system administration efficiency by creating and updating relevant shell scripts.
  • As needed, provide timely reports on the status of projects and other administration tasks.

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

  • CompTIA Security OR Bachelor's degree in Information Systems 
  • 3-5 years of expertise administering Linux systems in an enterprise setting. RedHat and/or Ubuntu experience is preferred.
  • Proficient at using Linux-based systems to apply STIGs.
  • Familiar with VMware vSphere.
  • Experience in automating tasks using Ansible.
  • Experience with Linux-based Containers.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with administering enterprise backup software and and storage concept solutions.
  • Capacity to succeed both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and aptitude to simultaneously manage several deadline-driven tasks and projects.
