Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 / year

Description

Aeriz is searching for a full-time Assistant Cultivation Manager- for our state-of-the-art indoor aeroponic cannabis production facility in Riverbank, CA. The successful candidate will possess a passion for horticulture, excellent interpersonal skills, experience leading others, and strong cannabis knowledge with a willingness to continually learn more about the subject.
The Assistant Cultivation Manager assists with all day-to-day operations throughout the cultivation facility to ensure full compliance and production demands are met. This includes but is not limited to the proper use and function of all climate controls, irrigation, lighting, and any other systems used in cultivation, to provide a constant supply of clean and potent cannabis. With the cultivation and operations team, they will participate in creating and adhering to a harvest/production schedule. The Assistant Manager must read and understand all current cultivation SOP's and follow accordingly for all aspects of cultivation. Oversee and properly educate all cultivation staff in accordance with current SOP's and will delegate tasks to the entire cultivation staff for daily labor operations and ensure all tasks are being performed efficiently and correctly. They will ensure full compliance throughout the cultivation area of the facility and keep up to date with any changes to applicable laws and regulations. This role will report directly to the Head Grower and work on-site at our facility in Riverbank, Ca.

• Performs and leads all tasks in the grow cycle, including transplanting, feeding, cloning, harvesting and inventory.

• Leads and independently manages the cultivation team in the absence of the Cultivation Manager.
• Manage assigned team members performance feedback, talent development, goals, and disciplinary actions.
• Manage daily scheduling and performance of all Cultivation personnel to ensure a highly efficient operation. 
• while operating in strict compliance with all state and company rules, regulations, security procedures and 
• record keeping.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment while adhering to all applicable rules/regulations.
• Work directly with the Head Grower to ensure the quantity, mix and yield of strains planted will meet cultivation team goals and objectives.
• Facilitate meeting cultivation goals for the facility as directed.
• Ensure all cultivation related standard operating procedures are followed including cultivation, inventory 
• management, security, and cleanliness.
• Maintain activities required to ensure optimal health of mother plants, clones, veg and flower plants.
• Dispose of waste in accordance with the State Regulations, ensuring that proper record keeping has occurred.
• Participate in training sessions, educational classes, or attend conferences designed to either improve your skills. 
• or your understanding of cultivation, harvest, and/or cannabis regulations.

Qualifications

• The Assistant Cultivation Manager must have impeccable organization, management, and team building skills for our operation. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in the cannabis cultivation industry, horticulture or agriculture and 2-3 years of experience leading a team of cultivators at a large-scale cannabis operation.
• Knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, rules, and company policies.
• Successful candidates will have unsurpassed attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of cannabis cultivation including but not limited to the following: seed germination, cloning, mother plant care, veg, flower, harvest, plant diseases and pathogens, as well as plant treatment options.
• Proven strong leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Plant Sciences and/or Agriculture related disciplines or equivalent experience required.
• 3-5 years as a cultivator in a large-scale indoor cannabis operation preferred.
• Experience with automated systems preferred.
• Experienced with mixed light growing required.
• Experience diagnosing, preventing, and treating plant health issues required.
• Experience creating production schedules required.
• Ability to manage people, provide day-to-day supervision, and handle employee related issues.
• Ability to gather, track, and report on agricultural information obtained during harvest tracking.
• Ability to develop and document SOPs.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Available to work 45 hours per 7-day week.
• Available to work weekends when requested.
• Able to lift 30 lbs. regularly.
• Knowledge of OSHA, 5S, Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Experience overseeing 20,000 square feet or more of canopy preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, climb, stretch, and lift up to 30 pounds. Requires the manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment and hand tools.
Work Environment:
This position involves a fair amount of manual labor which requires repetitive tasks. This position operates indoors which can reach different temperatures. This position may require working at heights up to or exceeding 10 feet. The Cultivation Department operates on weekends and holidays, and standard work hours may apply regardless of day or season.
