Unit Name: Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab - RN.2. Brief Unit Description: Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab are outpatient programs. We provide education and exercise programs to cardiac and pulmonary patients, that meet insurance criteria, to help reduce the risk of future events and improve quality of life. The program is a multidisciplinary program with RNs, RD, Exercise physiologists and PT.3. Years of Experience Required: Minimum: Two years of medical/surgical nursing experience, two years of recent cardiac intensive nursing care experience required (Other intensive nursing experience considered) and cardiac risk factor intervention and in exercise prescription and intervention. 4. Skill Sets Required: Critical Care, Cardiac Rehab experience is preferred. Telemetry, ACLS, computer (word, ppt, excel).5. Education: BSN is required by MA DPH ruling.6. Clinician to Patient Ratio: Each group is assigned 2 professionals with a ratio of 1:5.7. Patient Population: We have a mix of ages from 25-90 s. Cardiac Rehab sees patients with recent cardiovascular event or diagnosis (MI, stent, CABG, Valve repair/replacement, transplant, HF, stable angina). Pulmonary Rehab sees patients with COPD, s/p COVID and other lung diseases.8. Census: Varies based on group attendance.9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC and a separate telemetry system (LSI). 10. Floating Required: No.11. Rotating Shifts Required: We are a day program open from 6:45- 5:30pm. 12. Certification Required: Active MA RN License. BSN is required by MA DPH ruling. NCC Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred.
