Aequor is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join a partnering school district near Castle Rock, Colorado for the upcoming school year. As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists to support students in achieving their communication goals and enhancing their overall academic success.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with licensed speech-language pathologists to implement individualized treatment plans and interventions for students with speech and language disorders.
2. Provide direct support and assistance to students during therapy sessions, under the guidance of the supervising speech-language pathologist.
3. Assist in conducting screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring to identify students' communication needs and track their progress over time.
4. Implement therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve students' speech, language, and communication skills.
5. Support students in developing functional communication strategies and techniques to enhance their participation in classroom activities and social interactions.
6. Work closely with teachers, parents/guardians, and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language goals into students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and classroom activities.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, session notes, and other relevant data in compliance with district and state regulations.
8. Assist in the preparation and organization of therapy materials, resources, and equipment for therapy sessions.
9. Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of speech-language pathology.
10. Collaborate with community agencies and external service providers to coordinate support services and resources for students as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.
2. Valid certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in the state of Colorado.
3. Previous experience working with children and adolescents in educational or clinical settings preferred.
4. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow directions from supervising speech-language pathologists.
6. Commitment to supporting the academic and communication needs of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
7. Proficiency in using technology for data collection, documentation, and communication purposes.
